Autism in the Classroom - Session 1 - July 15th - 10am - 1pm - Online

This first session is all about building a better understanding of Autism and what it can look like in a real classroom setting. It’s designed to support teachers and SNAs in recognising how autistic students may experience school, including around communication, social interaction, sensory needs, and behaviour.

We’ll look at how Autism can vary from one student to another and how this can show up in everyday situations. There’ll be a focus on developing a deeper understanding of Autism, and how this can lead to and impact a child's experience in school, and their behaviour in the classroom setting.

Using practical examples and discussion, we’ll explore how the classroom environment, routines, and expectations can impact autistic learners, and how small changes can make a big difference to their experience.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer, more relatable understanding of Autism and feel more confident in supporting students in a way that works for them.
