Autism in the Classroom - Session 3 - Supporting Behaviours - Online - July 24th - 10am - 1pm
For the final session in this series, we’ll look at behaviour in a broader, more understanding way. Rather than seeing behaviour as something to “manage,” we’ll explore how it often links to regulation, stress, and unmet needs.
We’ll introduce the ideas of regulation and co-regulation, and how adults in the classroom can play a key role in helping students feel calm, safe, and ready to learn. There’ll be a strong focus on building positive relationships and creating the right conditions for students to succeed.
The session will include practical, realistic strategies to support a wide range of behaviours, with an emphasis on consistency and understanding. We’ll also look at ways to promote positive behaviour and support students in developing their own regulation skills over time.
By the end of the session, you’ll feel more confident in responding to behaviours in a calm, supportive, and effective way, with strategies that are grounded in understanding rather than reaction.
